What We Do
THE JOH MISSION:
Journeys of Hope, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Our mission is to serve homeless young adults, ages 18-23, on the North Shore of Boston. Through our program and our community outreach work, we strive to meet the basic needs of homeless young adults. We provide assistance with shelter, food, clothing and referrals for medical service. We also offer referrals and connections to legal assistance, access to educational resources. Our programs are specifically designed to support homeless young adults move from homelessness to sustained shelter and healthy futures.
Our History
JOH was founded in 2007 and received its 501 (c)(3) in July of 2008. We officially opened our doors on April 12th, 2010 and as of August 2011 JOH has been able to assist over 100 homeless young adults.

JOH is the only organization on the North Shore of Massachusetts with a mission to address the age-specific developmental needs of homeless young adults. Homeless youth are at extremely high risk for serious health problems and dangerous, unsafe living situations. Homeless youth are ill equipped to handle life on the streets. Existing adult homeless shelter services are not designed to meet the specific needs of homeless teens in crisis.
