What We Do

Journeys of Hope, Inc. was founded to support an underserved population- homeless North Shore young adults in need. Many of our clients have found themselves homeless and in crisis because they have aged out of state care, left home due to unhealthy or unsafe family situations, and decided to try independence and navigate the adult world without help, experimented with drugs and o unexpected twist of fate.

Through our day program, we offer our members services to meet their individual needs and build their confidence in leading healthy, adult lives.

Our History

JOH was founded in 2007 and received its 501 (c)(3) in July of 2008.  We officially opened our doors on April 12th, 2010.  So far in 2010, we have assisted over 30 young adults in transitioning from life on the streets to one of healthy adult living.

We are the only agency on the North Shore of Massachusetts with a mission to help area homeless young adults. JOH was created based on the realization that homeless young adults are under-served and ill equipped to handle life on the streets. Existing homeless shelter services are designed to meet the needs of older adults who typically have chronic substance abuse and/or serious mental health issues.
